Hello Again!

Thanks for all of your well wishes. I’m a little better, but my cold has moved straight to my chest. I TOLD you it was man flu. It will undoubtedly stay there for weeks, now.

My last post ended with me wanting a Knight in Shining Armour to turn up and spoon feed me, and the following morning I had a text message to tell me to look on my doorstep. There I found some home made spag bol, some linguini, and some rather lovely steak. How sweet is that? Yes…it was all from Rob, bless him. x

I can’t believe there’s only a week to go till Christmas. I haven’t even found the end of the friggin’ sellotape yet. I still have a few more pressies to buy, but it’s depressing the hell out of me. I remember when I was a kid and waking up on Christmas morning with a huge pillowcase full of them at the end of my bed. Now? You can spend three hundred quid and still only have enough to fill a bloody sandwich bag.

Is it just me, or is everyone noticing a lack of Christmas cards this year? Once upon a time I’d have received at least 30 or 40 by now. My current total stands at just 4, with only a week to go. I’m starting to worry that nobody likes me!

I’ve somehow got myself into this habit of being knackered by tea-time, in bed by eight and asleep by five past. Consequently, I wake up at two in the morning. It’s driving me insane! If you have any tips on how to stay awake at night, let me know. If I was a tv person I’d consider putting it on, but it all seems to be a load of drivel these days. And now X Factor has finished, what am I going to do? (Did anyone else think that Alex was going to stop breathing when she won? I was hyperventilating just watching her!)

Well, I’m afraid I have nothing interesting to report at all. Apart from the fact that I bought some leggings. I can’t believe I did it….that baggy arsed, stretched lycra look of the 90’s is something I didn’t think I’d ever see again in my lifetime, let alone partake in! I must say though, teaming them with a mini dress and a big scarf, I did feel rather ‘hip’ walking down the High Street yesterday. It’s the first time my legs have been out of jeans in years.

Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?

I do!

Sorry to hear your cold has moved south. Hope you're better by Christmas. That is probably what is making you more tired. But how sweet of Rob to drop some food on your doorstep. I reckon he still misses you like crazy. (A reunion for Christmas, maybe?)

If I am dropping by the early evening, I find sitting in front of the computer and willing myself to do look up things/type emails/type the blog helps. Then at a point I consider a more suitable bed-time, I then crash into bed. Or you could try forcing yourself to tidy a cupboard or a drawer to stay awake. At least that way, you busy yourself productively!!

Have a great Christmas.

I'm having the same problem with sleeping as you have and I have no solution to that.

I am making no resolutions. I just live day to day and am grateful for each day that goes well. Resolutions would be too intimidating to me.

I have been wearing leggings and skirts too and find them fun to wear. Mine are knitted and tight. Pretty warm too.

That 2009 will be a better year than 2008.

Other than that I'm royally screwed1

That's really strange cos I've found a lack of cards too this year.

Got a few resolutions, but doubt they'll last!

MY WIFE and I have noticed a bit of that lack of cards. We have 8 or 9 so far, whereas we might have had 20 or so in prior years. Of course, being lazy buggers, we haven't sent ours out yet, so we deserve no better :-)

Here's to you getting better.
Here's to Rob for being a generally good guy.
Here's to the 90's fashion coming back... they may as well... people out here are blending the 70's and 80's looks all the time. I have seen more and more frequent use of legwarmers....
Most of all here's to you for being you.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Even if it's just a little.
That was very sweet of Rob.
I think I'm officially finished with my shopping. THANK GOD!
I sent out cards this year. I don't think you're wrong. We've only received 4 or 5, compared to the usual 15ish by this time.

Ain't that a good man, leaving you spag bol and everything necessary. Haven't yet thought about new year resolutions, will give it a thought though probably won't put it on the blog.

Cards, haven't written mine yet, other than for family... is it a sign?

Hope the flu has gone in good time for Christmas. Your knight in shining armour (Rob)came through!

We haven't got as many cards as we usually do, though I sent one to the world and his wife. Unfortunately I don't have your address or I'd have sent you one too!

Good Morning Laney,

I believe if you want to fix something, don't wait for the new year to do it.

Try getting some exercise in the afternoon it may post your metabolism.

Leggings, a mini skirt and a big scarf, you would have my head turning.

Hope you have a great holiday!
